The Gateway Bowls Club was established on the former Old Park Barracks site at Whitfield in 2006. It now has an enthusiastic membership who enjoy an extensive competition calendar playing against other local clubs as well as friendly competitions and numerous social functions.

Gateway Bowls Club has an illustrious history reaching back almost a century having evolved from the Buckland Mill Bowls Club formed in 1927 by Wiggins Teape workers.

The club is affiliated to the Kent County Bowling Association and Bowls England playing to their rules.

The club facilities are excellent and include extensive free parking.
